Air conditioning is the category where buying out of season saves the most: the same unit costs noticeably less in October than in the first hot week of July.

The deals below were collected today. Size the unit to the room ’ roughly 9000 BTU up to 25 square metres, 12000 up to 35 ’ because an oversized unit cycles badly and dehumidifies poorly.

For fixed units, remember that installation is a separate cost and often exceeds the discount you are comparing. Portable models avoid it but are louder and less efficient.
